Therapies
I am trained in several Psychological Models:
• Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
• Trauma-focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (tf-CBT)
• Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR- having completed full training for both adults and children/ adolescents)
• Mentalization Based Therapy (MBT)
• Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT)
• Reflective Parenting (MBT for parents) and the Solihull Approach.
I tend to work in an integrative way, taking into account the individual needs of each person I work with. In doing this, I frequently draw on other approaches such as Mindfulness, Compassion Based Therapy, Schema Therapy and Family Therapy.
I only offer spaces for ongoing therapy when a course of treatment has finished with a registered client. I do not run a waiting list as I would not wish to have clients waiting without a sense of when therapy can be offered. Please contact me for current appointment availability.
I also run a specialist service for difficulties with adjusting to parenthood, please visit www.heartandsouldoctors.com for further information.
Supervision
I am a trained clinical supervisor, having completed the Generic Supervision, Specialist NHS Education for Scotland (NES) Doctorate Trainee Supervisor Course and the NES Specialist Supervision Training in CBT- CAMHS specialist courses. I currently provide clinical supervision to Clinical Psychologists in Training and Qualified Clinical Psychologists. I am an accredited Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT) supervisor.
